Young Athletes

Young Athletes is designed with the aim to reach out to the children with intellectual disabilies age 2 to 7,  encourage the participation of the children as well as their families in the Special Olympics movement.

Through this program, the participants will have the opportunity to be introduced to the world of sport from an early age, providing them a good foundation for future Special Olympics training and competitions. The program focuses on the learning of basic skills that are crucial for cognitive development. For example, physical activities could aid the development of motor skills and hand-eye coordination. At the same time, children's social skills could be improved through interacting with peers and instructors, which in turn help children build up their self-confidence.
